Week In A 19 year-old entrepreneur's Life: May 27-June 02

Week in a 19 year-old entrepreneur's life: May 27- June 2 | Thoughtfully Handmade

Hello everyone! Working from home sounds like a dream come true, but is it really? This week, I’m showing you what a week in my life looks like.

Now, not every week is like this, but it’s a pretty good representation of how busy an entrepreneur can get! I actually filmed my entire week (May 27-June 2) and posted it on my IGTV. You can head over there to watch if you would like or keep reading for a written play-by-play of what happened.

A little backstory before we get started. My name is Yandy, and I’m the owner of Thoughtfully Handmade, and author of this blog, Thoughtfully Blogged. I am also a full-time university student at the University of Toronto. I’m currently on summer break, so there won’t be any school-related content in this post. Okay, with that out of the way, let’s get started!

After waking up, I started vlogging almost immediately. I actually had an appointment for massage therapy, which was needed after my weekend hiking trip!

So, I quickly made myself some breakfast and scheduled Monday’s social media posts (I typically do it on Sundays but due to the hiking trip I couldn’t). I then headed to Activa Clinics for my appointment.

After a relaxing 30 minutes, I went to No Frills for some much-needed groceries. I then came home, made 2 pieces of avocado toast for lunch and created my weekly bullet journal spread. Again, I typically do that on Sundays but I couldn’t this week.

I had a call with my Research Team from Advocates of Tomorrow as I am their Chief Research Officer. I quickly prepared for that before jumping on the call. After my call, I was exhausted after a long day. So, I made some dinner, showered and watched some YouTube videos before heading to bed.

I try to start my day with a workout and stretching as much as possible, so that’s what I did. Before heading down, I meditated. I make sure to meditate every day to ensure my head is clear and ready to tackle the day.

After working out in my condo’s gym, I came home and made breakfast. In the middle of waiting for my inlets to cook, I watered my plants. I’m all about that multitasking!

I then took the rest of my social media photos for the week and started editing. I had to meet my mom at Keele Station at 3 PM so we could go to our accountant to file our taxes, so I was on a tight schedule.

After barely getting time to cook and eat my lunch, I headed out the door. On the bus, I finished editing the photos that I couldn’t get to before I had to leave the house. I met my mom at Keele station, and we make our way to the accountant. This is where everything went wrong!

Long story short, my mom and I got into a 3-way accident because a guy decided to not look twice before turning left. If you want the full story, you need to go to my video for that! No one was injured, so that was a plus. But basically, I spent the rest of my day at the Collision Reporting Centre before coming home at 10 PM. Needless to say, we didn’t make our appointment.

First thing in the morning, I headed over to the walk-in clinic to get my knee checked out. I think I either bumped it on the dashboard because of the collision or the airbag hit my knee as it was coming out. Regardless, I was left with a bruised knee.

The doctor ordered an x-day and ultrasound scan of my knee just in case, but we both agreed that it was nothing. I miraculously got an appointment for my scans for the same day at 2 PM. So, I came home, had lunch and headed out again.

After coming home from the scans, the day caught up to me, and I was exhausted. I took a nap and basically did nothing for the rest of the day.

I had a meeting regarding my RESP at 10 AM, so I quickly ate breakfast and headed out. The meeting took forever! I ended up putting on a face mask and then taking a shower when I came back home.

After my lovely shower, I started making some Father’s Day cards. My first design attempts were a flop, but I finally settled on this one.

Man Crush | Handmade Father's Day card | Week in a 19 year-old entrepreneur's life: May 27- June 2 | Thoughtfully Handmade

I eventually named them Man Crush! Anyways, I was so tired after that, I went to bed at 7 PM! I didn’t go to sleep until 9 PM, but still. That’s so early!

Waking up refreshed, I did Friday’s workout at home. I then ate breakfast, changed into “work clothes” and started finishing up my cards. I, for some reason, also decided to wash my sheets too? So, I just did all of my laundry on Friday.

I also had a sink full of dirty dishes that needed to be washed. So, after procrastinating by vlogging about my new card design, I washed all of it. Ugh, that was not fun!

I ended up finishing 4 different variations of the Man Crush design and even made a second card design, which I ended up calling Starry Delight. I had to take my social media photos for the upcoming week the next day, so I planned out my social media content in detail. That was basically it for my Friday, and I stopped working after that.

My mom and I rescheduled our tax appointment for Saturday, meaning I was on a tight schedule again. After eating a quick breakfast, I take my social media photos and editing them before heading over to Finch station to meet my mom.

This time, we successfully made it to our accountant’s and filed our taxes. We were then supposed to pick up my grandma to go to a festival, but she got sick, so we wanted to let her rest. My mom and I ended up not going to the festival at all, and instead shopped for groceries at Costco and Fu Yao, a Chinese supermarket.

After coming home late, I finished the rough draft of my Father’s Day gift guide that had to be published on Sunday. I ended up going to bed at 12 AM.

For some reason, I woke up at 6 AM on Sunday. Instead of staying in bed like I wanted to, I got up, listed my Father’s Day cards on my website and published my gift guide blog post.

I then had breakfast, scheduled all of my Instagram posts, and ate lunch. Since it was the beginning of June, I did my monthly budget and expense tracker on my computer and did my monthly set up in my bullet journal. It took longer than I expected, so that was all I was able to do on Sunday.

Like I said in my video, I wanted to share what I do with you all because not everyone knows what an entrepreneur does. Well, we do all of what I mentioned above and more. If you would like to see more content like this, let me know in the comments below!
