Thoughtfully Gifted: Holiday Happy Mail

Thoughtfully Handmade: Holiday Happy Mail | Thoughtfully Handmade

You and Elaine are best friends. In your last year of university, Elaine received a job at a prestigious biotechnology firm in Switzerland. You were sad to see her go but happy for her at the same time.

A couple of months pass after Elaine moved. You and she still talked through FaceTime, but for Christmas, you wanted to give Elaine a physical gift. You’ve never missed one in your four years of friendship, and you are not going to forgo it this year just because Elaine is on the other side of the world.

However, you just started your job as a graphic designer and not making much. A physical gift is too expensive to mail because shipping is expensive these days. A gift card to Elaine’s favourite store feels too impersonal for your best friend. Maybe you can design her an e-card?

But who does that anymore?

Out of options, you search Pinterest for inspiration. This card pops up:

You love it! As an artist yourself, you appreciate the effort it took the artisan to handcraft each handmade card, and how thoughtful each card is.

With your decision made, you contact the seller, Thoughtfully Handmade right away. You asked if she, the owner, could mail the card to your friend directly if you gave her your friend’s address and the message you wanted inside.

The owner happily agreed. After paying for international shipping and the card, it was mailed to Elaine just in time for Christmas. The day after Christmas, you get a message from Elaine thanking you for the thoughtful gift.

Crisis averted, thanks to a Christmas card called Merry and a business called Thoughtfully Handmade.
