7 Reasons Why I Love Tailwind for Social Media

7 Reasons Why I Love Tailwind for Social Media | Thoughtfully Handmade

For those of you who have been following me for a while, you know that I post 2 times a day on Instagram. What you might not know is that I also pin 5-10 times a day on Pinterest!

Now, you're probably wondering, "How does Yandy do all of that?!?" Well, I don't. I definitely have some help! While my social media intern does so much, I also rely on Tailwind to schedule all of my posts and pins.

I know some of you are also thinking about scheduling your social media. So, I thought I'd write up a little review of my experiences with Tailwind. That way, you can decide if it's the right tool for you!

Before I jump in, here is a brief review of what Tailwind is. Tailwind is a multi-platform social media scheduler. Their main platforms are Pinterest and Instagram, but there is also the option to publish something straight to your Facebook page or Twitter account. I love having both in one account, so everything is located in one place.

Okay, now let's really get into it!

1. Analytics

While individual social media platforms do have their own analytics, they often are not robust enough for detailed analytics. Or, they just tell you how many likes, comments and followers you have. While those metrics are important, I enjoy Tailwind's engagement metrics much more. I feel like they really tell me how well my account is doing.

2. Smart bio

As part of their Instagram scheduling tool is this Smart Bio tool. If you've heard of Link Tree or Link in Profile, this is the perfect combination of the two. It provides you one link to paste as your link on your Instagram profile. It directs users to a different page full of other links. I like Tailwind's because it allows me to have static links (the bars at the top) and scheduled links (the images at the bottom). Check out my Instagram profile link as an example!

3. Official partners

Tailwind is an official Pinterest and Instagram partner, meaning they are authorized by Instagram to schedule posts on your behalf. They also get insider knowledge of new updates before anyone else!

4. Smart loop

This is a feature of their Pinterest scheduling tool and I absolutely love it! It allows you to schedule pins that pins to your board(s) on a loop. This is great for evergreen or seasonal content because once you schedule it, it automates the process for you. I know there are websites out there who do that, but I like having everything in one place. Plus, you can add things to your smart loop while you schedule your drafts.

5. Smart schedule

I love this smart schedule because it chooses the best time(s) for me to post to my audience to receive maximum engagement. It looks at when my followers are most active on Instagram and when most of my pins are pinned on Pinterest. Then, it generates the best time(s) based on how many times a day you want to post. It has really helped with my engagement ever since I started using it!

6. Tribes

This is another feature for Pinterest and I absolutely love it. If you have heard of or used group boards, this is Tailwind's take on it. Each "tribe" is like a group board but off of Pinterest. Instead, members send their pins to the tribe(s) when they are scheduling their posts. Other people can schedule the pins members shared with the tribe on their own feeds.

7. Always trying to improve itself

Tailwind is constantly interviewing users for their feedback and developing new features that help us get the most out of our money. I really appreciate companies that care about their customers.

The only downside is that you have to pay to use the Tailwind features. There is a free trial, but there is no free plan option like some other scheduling tools. I personally think the money I pay is worth it because of all of the fantastic features that are included in the subscription fee.

Tailwind has really upgraded my social media game! If you want to try it out, you can do so with my referral link. I get a few credits applied to my account if you end up switching to their paid plan!
