Have I mentioned how much of a craft supply hoarder I am?
No?
I'm sure I'm not alone! If you are a crafter of any kind, you probably have a lot of craft supplies.
But, if you are just starting, what are the essentials that you need for your stash? Well, I've gone through many different craft supplies, and I've narrowed it down to my ten absolute essentials.
Last week I shared the first five, and this week I'm sharing the other. Just a disclaimer that the supplies aren't listed in any particular order!
Ink
If I didn't have my Simon Says Stamp hybrid ink cubes, most of my cards wouldn't have happened. I have several big ink pads for commonly used colours and small ink cubes for fun colours that I don't use as much.
I do have some ink from different brands (Versa Fine and Hero Arts), but most come from Simon Says Stamp.
Stamps
It would be pointless to have ink without stamps, right? I only use clear ones that stick on acrylic blocks since they are the least expensive and most easy-to-store option. I shared my storage solution for stamps in a newsletter a couple months back, but basically, I use a mini binder.
Most of the sentiments on my cards are from stamps!
I bought almost all of my stamps on Simon Says Stamp's website, but I also got some alphabet ones from Michael's. Now, the brand for the majority of my stamp collection is from Clearly Besotted. I do have some from Lawn Fawn, and Simon Says Stamp though.
Acrylic Blocks
I can't use my stamps without acrylic blocks, so these are a must-have for me as well. I love using the Mini Misty (pink one in the centre of the photo) for when I have a ton of the same card designs to make. I also use several other blocks in various sizes, depending on the card I have in mind.
I bought the acrylic blocks from a variety of places- Amazon, Simon Says Stamp and Michael's. For the Misty, I bought that from Ellen Hutson.
Pens
Specifically calligraphy brush markers. I have a bunch from Tombow and Pentel. I love using them on custom cards since my stamps don't offer that level of customization. I also use Sakura Jelly Roll pens in silver, gold and white for accents on my card designs.
I bought my Tombow Dual Brush Pens and my jelly rolls at Curry's (a Canadian art supply store) and the Tombow Fudenosuke and Pentel Sign brush pens on Amazon.
Embellishments
I can't only make cards with patterned paper and stamps! That's not my style. I love adding a 3D element to my cards in the form of embellishments. I have a ginormous box full of buttons, ribbon, flowers and bows that I've picked up from Dollarama (a Canadian chain of dollar stores) and Michael's.
Besides my stash of cute card decorations, I have a terrible addiction to washi tape. Don't believe me? Just look at the amount I own (picture below)!
The MT washi tape was gifted to me, but I know my friend bought it from Amazon because I sent her the link. The rest of my washi tape comes from- you guessed it- Michael's! God, I love that store, especially when they keep giving me 50% off coupons.
