Birthdays are such a special occasion- it’s the day someone was brought into this world and should be celebrated. Have a birthday coming up for a person with a feminine aesthetic? What will you give them for their birthday? A thoughtful gift from a local Canadian business is the answer. That’s why I’ve gathered some awesome gifts made by some of my favourite artisans.
If the birthday girl isn't allergic to scents, these unique dessert candles from Allen Wick Candles are perfect gifts! They use top quality soy wax for all of their candles, so it's vegan too.
With over 10 years of candle-making experience, Jennifer, the owner, can create stunningly realistic candles which resemble desserts! Not only do her candles look good, but they smell good too.
2. Macramé Hangings
When I saw these delicate and intricate macramé hangings by Laina from Little Knotty Farmhouse, I knew I had to include it in this gift guide. All of the designs are Laina's, which is very impressive.
Each piece is made of soft Canadian-made natural cotton rope, and can be up to 7 feet wide! They can take weeks to create, especially if it's a custom design. This is perfect for any birthday celebrant that loves a feminine boho vibe!
Instead of purchasing a macramé hanging from Urban Outfitters, you can support a local maker instead. The birthday girl will be happy to know that her gift was made with love and care! If you're interested, check out Laina's Instagram page or website to purchase.
3. Intention Bracelets
If the birthday celebrant needs some healing energy, Leanne from Art Arrows has you covered. Her intention bracelets are influenced by nature and her travels, particularly in South America.
With 19 years of experience as an artist, Leanne skillfully combines different coloured stones for her designs. Her bracelets are simple but beautiful, and I'm sure anyone would love to receive one for their birthday.
All of her jewelry is made from the best quality and either stainless steel or sterling silver. All bracelets were created with an intention in mind, so whether they need more love, healing or energy, Leanne has you covered! Browse more of her designs on her Etsy shop or Instagram page if these have sparked your interest!
4. Bath Products
Who doesn't love a nice, relaxing bath, or taking care of their skin? Nicole from Tub Loves has a wide assortment of soaps and other bath goodies from 100% natural ingredients. She is also a full-time farmer and uses goat's milk from her farm in the soaps.
If the birthday celebrant is vegan, not to worry! Nicole also has vegan soap bars made from 100% vegetable base. Tub Loves offers gift sets as well, which includes herbal bath salts, a bath bomb, a vegan soap bar and a vegan loofah bar.
5. Handmade Cards
Every gift needs a birthday card! With a wide range of birthday cards, I've got you covered. If the birthday celebrant is one who you don't know that well, a birthday card is the way to go! Just write a thoughtful message inside and the recipient will feel loved and appreciated.
This personalizes any gift in this gift guide even further. You can write whatever you want inside as all of my cards are blank inside.
That wraps up this edition of 5 Things to Give! I hope you liked all of these suggestions that I gave. If you end up purchasing something from this blog post, let me know on Facebook or Instagram. I'd love to see the birthday celebrant's reaction!
I also want to quickly explain why I didn't put "birthday girl" in the title. Flowers, bath products and specific colours should not be exclusive to one gender and not the other. All genders should be able to enjoy what is stereotypically girly or feminine. Even categorizing these products as feminine made me pause. However, I needed some type of organization, so this is what I came up with. Masculine birthday gifts are coming up next!
